In the Philippines: Crab Mentality and Stalking - A Religious Thesis

Introduction

“The 'establishment of religion' clause of the First Amendment means at least this: Neither a state nor the Federal Government can set up a church. Neither can pass laws which aid one religion, aid all religions or prefer one religion over another. Neither can force nor influence a person to go to or to remain away from church against his will or force him to profess a belief or disbelief in any religion. No person can be punished for entertaining or professing religious beliefs or disbeliefs, for church attendance or non-attendance. In the words of Jefferson, the clause against establishment of religion by law was intended to erect 'a wall of separation between Church and State. 330 U.S. 1, 15-16.”- Everson v. Board of Education, 330 U.S. 1 (1947)Hugo Black

Psalm 109
(Greek numbering: Psalm 108) is a psalm noted for containing some of the most frighteningly severe curses in the Bible, such as:
"Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children."
and:
"Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out", and so on.

For Psalm 73, the intention or thrust statement might be paraphrased: The prosperity and trouble-free life of evil persons (vv. 2-20), though a challenge to a theology of God’s {24} goodness extended to the pure in heart (v. 1), is manageable when one considers the evil-doers’ destiny and comes to grips with the great boon of God’s counsel, presence and power (vv. 21-28). The Psalmist has come to understand the puzzle which arose when the faith statement, “God is good to the pure in heart” was apparently contradicted by his actual experience, namely the prosperity of the wicked. His solution is to see that the actual, observable experience of the wicked is not the whole story. The destiny of the wicked is gruesome. Moreover, he has a fresh-hold on what is meant by God’s goodness. It includes those intangible values of God’s counsel, presence and power.

What is Philippine Crab Mentality and Stalking?

Crab mentality describes a way of thinking best described by the phrase "if I can't have it, neither can you." The metaphor refers to a pot of crabs in which one tries to escape over the side, but is relentlessly pulled down by the others in the pot.

This term is broadly associated with short-sighted, non-constructive thinking rather than a unified, long-term, constructive mentality. It is also often used colloquially in reference to individuals or communities attempting to "escape" a so-called "underprivileged life", but kept from doing so by others of the same community or nation attempting to ride upon their coat-tails or those who simply resent their success.

For Filipinos, crab mentality is the tendency to "outdo another at the other's expense" or to "pull down those who strive to be better." An overzealous leader becomes morally shamed. It "became a call for community leaders to acknowledge indebtedness to others and to work for the good of the entire community and not just for themselves."
(Cf - Beyond a Western Bioethics: Voices from the Developing World by Angeles Tan-Alora, Josephine M. Lumitao; Between Law and Culture: relocating legal studies edited by David Theo Goldberg, Michael C. Musheno, Lisa C. Bower; Honor and Shame: Unlocking the Door By Roland Muller)

Stalking, on the other hand, is the obsessive following, observing, or contacting of another person, or the obsessive attempt to engage in any of these activities. This includes following the person to certain places, to see where they live or what the person does on a daily basis, it also includes seeking and obtaining the person's personal information in order to contact him or her; e.g. looking for his or her details on computers, electoral rolls, personal files and other material containing the person's private information without his or her consent.

Laws on Stalking
The first state to criminalize stalking in the United States was California in 1990 due to several high profile stalking cases in California, including the 1982 attempted murder of actress Theresa Saldana, the 1988 massacre by Richard Farley, the 1989 murder of actress Rebecca Schaeffer, and five Orange County stalking murders also in 1989. The first anti-stalking law in the United States, California Penal Code Section 646.9, was developed and proposed by Municipal Court Judge John Watson of Orange County. Watson with U.S. Congressman Ed Royce introduced the law in 1990. Also in 1990, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) began the United States' first Threat Management Unit, founded by LAPD Captain Robert Martin.

Philippine laws punish stalking, criminally and civilly. The New Civil Code's Arts. 19, 20 & 21, inter alia, on human relations permit the complainant to claim civil and criminal damages or indemnity against the stalker. Art. 287, 2nd Par., of the Revised Penal Code further provides for the penalty of Arresto menor and/or fine from P5.00 to P200.00 for this felony.

Ateneo de Manila - Manuals of School Discipline

In addition, private and even public schools, do have "Manuals of School Discipline" which impose certain penalties like suspension, dismissal and even "no graduation" to students and dire punishments to alumni who are accused, probed and found guilty of stalking or unethical/felonious behaviors upon verified complaint by any interested party.

The 3 mystic and healing dwarves identified the crab-stalkers, thusly:

This is a for "Ripleys Believe-it-or-nuts" - Judge Floro was adopted by Fernando Ian Lopez -

ONLY ONE REASON why he adopted Judge Floro: he emailed: a) Floro cursed Arturo D. Brion and Ateneo Law School Classes 82-85. Ian's grandparent is "Brion." b) He persuaded Floro to lift the curse. Floro did not answer him.

Max intimidated Ian, an administrator hopeful. Ian emailed Floro that to leave Wikipedia for good, due to conspiracy to muscle or ban-block the dwarves in Wikipedia. User:The Coffee having the button to block and administrator -

Hi Howard. Regarding with this comment, please be a bit more nice despite Floro's "shortcomings". Cheers! --Efe (talk) 07:11, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm tired already of his shortcomings. At least with that comment he'll think twice on expounding a lenghtly dissertation about dwarfs. --Howard the Duck 07:13, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Even sysops don't know how to deal with him, IMHO. The only way they'll do action is if he does really blatant violation (COPYVIO/3RR/etc). --Howard the Duck 07:17, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Take a look at the user talk page of the one if the intervening admins (I forgot who), it seems he doesn't know what to do. --Howard the Duck 07:32, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
I believe this is what you're talking about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Diligent_Terrier/Florentino_floro_and_Maxschmelling but Floro's own talk page is also required reading for the sheer absurdity of it. --Migs (talk) 08:27, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
If ever you catch him doing something that warrants a block, please tell me. ;D TheCoffee (talk) 08:18, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
I caught him editing Wikipedia --Migs (talk) 08:27, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Well if anyone does something that warrants a block, I'm going to enforce the rules and block them. That's the way it should be done, there's nothing wrong with that and I stand by my post. TheCoffee (talk) 07:53, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Well, you can stand by it. Its just that a lot of eyes are waiting for Floro to commit mistake then block. =) --Efe (talk) 07:58, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure that it is direly important. In fact I think it is pretty much irrelevant. I was passing through Mumbai, using an unfamiliar computer and I wasn't logged in. I soon added my username to the unsigned comments so that no one would be misled. I am not from India, but as I have said before, my nationality is of no importance to this dispute. maxsch (talk) 14:02, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Mt. Talinis is transcendental vis-a-vis Elephanta Caves of India, for in the entire mystic India, there is no match for Mt. Talinis - vide: Western Ghats:

The 396 known endemic higher vertebrate species identified by WCMC. Endemism among mammals and birds is relatively low. Only 44 species of Indian mammal have a range that is confined entirely to within Indian territorial limits. Four endemic species of conservation significance occur in the Western Ghats. They are the Lion-tailed macaque Macaca silenus, Nilgiri leaf monkey Trachypithecus johni (locally better known as Nilgiri langur Presbytis johnii), Brown palm civet Paradoxurus jerdoni and Nilgiri tahr Hemitragus hylocrius.
